Here’s a story about a bunch of persnickety sisters. Four. Norma, Ruth, Arlene and Janet. Why are they persnickety? Their formative years may have been a little marred. My theory and that’s all it is.
The two older were two years apart. Eight year gap and the two young ones show up separated by two years as well. My mother is the first on the left sitting with the boofiest bouffant. In a close second place is Arlene, but she coulda won with just one more can of AquaNet. But Janet won. In the right picture, she’s on the far right in blue. Ruth in the middle. Norma on the left. Not a bad looking trio, right? They spent a lot of time together raising kids and living life. They were fun, never at a loss for words, and always up for a game of Can You Top This? Oh yeah, politely competitive. Explains a persnickety woman’s driven nature. Scratch competitive and go with driven.

So these four sisters. They’ve all passed. But funny how just the right picture can make someone so alive. PS: in the black and white, the woman on left of the couch is the mother of the sisters. Grandma. Pauline. Maiden name: Pauline Yaps. Then Pauline Massey, mother and commander in chief of the persnickety gang.
The patience of a saint!
