Why do politicians largely demonstrate complete disregard for truth and honesty? Is it because they assume they set the standards for them? Well you might have but the walls are closing in on all sides. Is it a given that raising campaign funds goes hand in hand with making campaign promises to voters that you don’t intend to keep as well as the campaign donations you clearly covet? These donators place a target on your back and know exactly how to hit the bullseye.
Us lowly citizens love that sort of consistency in a variety of areas that impact us, the givers of life for you. The disintegration of our country … we’ve been so busy pointing the blame at each other and letting it divide us to a point of irrevocable conflict. But no. The blame falls on you dear leaders. You thrive on our inability to agree, don’t you? It enables distraction from your back room antics. But New York City? Eight million people sharing less than seven miles? This could be the one you don’t survive. The city depends on a strong community, tolerance and mutual respect. Do you know what those are?
We’re onto you. The jig is up. We the people are not remotely as dumb as you counted on us being. Sorry to disappoint you. We know you even dumbed down public school to get us into that dark room, but we found the light switch. I’m gonna stop payment on my $9.99 per month contribution to the crooked pyramid scheme.
