I attended my first ever rally yesterday. It was the second No Kings movement in Philadelphia. I woke up and looked out my living room window around 8:30 AM and saw a few thousand early arrivers for the rally which was scheduled to start at noon. I got showered and ready to participate not knowing what to expect. All I knew was that I strongly agreed with the message this rally / protest stood for. Rally or peaceful protest. Rally implies supporting a cause in a positive mode. Protest implies a strong organized disagreement with something, in this case a disagreement with the concept of a king. I was there in good faith to support causes I believe in. No negatives or protests from me. Best of intentions.

I joined a rally, which had grown to fifteen thousand people. I didn’t have negative energy to shake off. I wanted to approach the No Kings movement by not even acknowledging the self-declared king. He’s not my president and certainly not in contention to be my king. This rally wasn’t about him. I tried to accept him as the leader of my country, yet he insults me and my personal causes on a daily basis. In fact, his team does the same. I’m an evil and dangerous enemy from within. SCREW YOU for labeling me as such. Why would you label half the people you represent that way? Isn’t that a reflection on your inability to lead and organize a successful team? Insinuating I hate America? Shame on you. I didn’t get out of my pajamas and don a message across my face based on hatred of my country.

But the rally temporarily erased that noise. I was surrounded by twelve thousand similar thinking people and it was empowering to know that there’s sanity after all. When watching the news in isolation one can feel disengaged. You’re supported by a select amount of your friends and family members. The rally wasn’t directed at “hating America” or hating anything. I certainly don’t hate my republican family members. Respect that I also care enough to participate in securing a healthy America. We hold differences in our causes. We’re supposed to.
As a side note: that video you posted … crapping on half your people?
