I spent a lot of my working days in higher education, specifically Academics. Pretty simple pre-graduation rules include:
- make sure all the requirements of the degree they’re getting have been satisfied
- make sure their final GPA is consistent with the degree standards
- make sure they don’t have any outstanding tuition
Simple enough. If anyone was remotely close to not satisfying any or all of these guidelines, you’d hold a jury to discuss whether unknown factors played a part in their performance, then set up a remedial plan. They could still do the cap and gown thing. They just got an empty diploma folder. That way they wouldn’t be embarrassed and their parents would never know.
So now we’ve got this ex-President with countless indictments (many of which have already been decided against him) yet he still gets to graduate with a real diploma. No remedial plan. No appeal. Nutt’n. He’s even allowed to tour the country and brag about beating the system that’s rigged against him. AND he’s even eligible to seek the same position again. AND if he gets sworn in the Bible will be real, not blank. Kind of like being accepted into a Graduate program when you never finished your Bachelor’s Degree and owe tuition.
Since this ex-Prez still maintains his freedom of filth amendment, he’s the equivalent of a Valedictorian of crooks. Some people are already tossing their mortar boards into the air with exhilaration. I hear Amy Coney Barrett is taking discus hurling lessons. She won’t be alone in the whole hurling motif.
My accountant once overlooked a freelance payment. I got a bill two years later from the IRS not just for the amount of the payment, but a penalty and interest accrued. The ex-Prez crook gets financial support from his staunch supporters that he periodically refers to as idiots.
